Jo McCormack
Director & Lawyer
Jo is experienced in the areas of Property and Commercial Law, Wills and Estates, Powers of Attorney and general legal matters. Jo has over 20 years’ experience in Conveyancing matters. Jo grew up in Camperdown and Terang and joined Desmond Dunne & Dwyer on 12 February 2002, after 12 months of study at Deakin University in Geelong. The firm later changed its name to Dwyer Robinson and then Dwyer Legal Warrnambool following a merger in 2019.
Jo commenced with the firm as a Personal Assistant to Jim Dwyer. Completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting major) and Bachelor of Laws by correspondence while working with the firm, Jo graduated from Deakin University in 2007, was admitted to practice on 16 December 2008 and has been a Partner of the firm since 1 July 2013.
Jo has been a voluntary member of a number of local Boards and Committees including the Emmanuel College Board of Management, the Emmanuel College Advisory Council, the South West Healthcare Board of Directors, the Committee of Warrnambool and District Community Hospice Inc, the Western District Law Association and the Regional and Suburban Young Lawyers Committee (part of the Law Institute of Victoria).
Outside of work, Jo is married with children and enjoys walking her dogs, travelling and supporting the Richmond Football Club.
Jo is currently working in our Port Fairy Office every Friday and every alternative Thursday and in our Warrnambool Office on all other days.
On 1 July 2025, Jo will step down as a Director of Dwyer Legal and relocate interstate. Jo will continue to work for Dwyer Legal part-time and remote to the Office, predominantly on conveyancing matters.
